A graduate of the University of Jordan with a degree in archeology, Mohammad has managed the Disi Camel Track for 5 years. It is his great honor to provide you the best in hospitality and desert experience.
In 2011, Mohammad Attallah, the manager of the camel race track in Disi thought it might be fun to facilitate camel races for guests from outside of the local Bedouin community. With the partnership of the Disi Tourism Society run by Abu Yousef, we are organizing six sets of races per year, in the spring and fall. In 2013, we were honored to be featured in the Rough Guide to Jordan. Race dates here.
The races begin promptly at 8 am and feature three rounds of between 7 - 10 camels competing for a prize which is funded by the race admission paid by our guests. The payment of admission allows visitors to experience the races from the back of a 4WD vehicle as follows:
Preferred Seating - one race
Gold Circle - two races
Emerald Circle - three races plus non-alcoholic drinks
